A parent or guardian must attend for each family

1 adult = $35
1 parent + 1 child = $45
1 parent + 2 children = $60
Each child after that is an additional $15
2 parents + 1 child = $60 Each child after that is an additional $15

These are family friendly, all ages events at Earth Connection Virginia's camp near Fredericksburg, Va. Family Class Descriptions Wilderness Games - May 17, 2009 - 1 to 4pm In this class we will enjoy the games, crafts, toys and pastimes of many ancient cultures. With a heavy focus on Native American traditions, we will play games of balance, chance, aim, strategy and luck.

brought. Native Life - September 20, 2009 - 1 to 4pm This class is a great hands on lesson in the daily lives of our Native American ancestors. Primarily looking at pre-contact life, we will perform important daily tasks as a group, like making shelter, fire building, cooking and food processing, storytelling and much more.

brought. Family Friction Fire - October 25, 2009 - 1 to 4pmThis class will cover a little bit of the history of making fire from rubbing sticks together. We will also use the Bow and Drill technique in teams to actually make fire. Different Native stories about the origin of fire and a firm talk about fire safety will conclude the class. Containers - December 20, 2009 - 1 to 4pm In this class we will craft wicker baskets from vines, wood bowls using coals to burn out the hollow and clay bowls. These containers were very important in the lives of our ancestors, as they were used for cooking and storage. The containers can take on new meaning today as we explore traditional skills and perhaps even use this opportunity to make some holiday gifts.
